Swartland Oval Karting

It all started in 2003 when a couple of us got together with self built frames and industrial four stroke engines on the show grounds in Malmesbury, Western Cape. All expectations were exceeded with the interest and enthusiasm of new members joining on a weekly basis and soon Malmesbury Go-Kart Club was founded and subsequently renamed to Swartland Oval Karting in 2007. We attracted, and still do, racers from all over the Province. Clubs in Cape Town, Moorreesburg and Tulbagh followed and racing events have been introduced at other towns like Oudtshoorn and Worcester. In this brief history background I would also like to recognize: Johan Odendaal (Malmesbury Go Karts), Hein Meeding (Samoa Go Kart Club) and Koos Human (Cape Oval Dirt Karting) for their contribution and input during the founding years. Swartland Oval Karting has grown tremendously offering the most competitive racing and consisting club governance over the past years. Our objective is to offer competitive motor racing and to promote involvement of all genders and ages who endorse the constitution and regulations of our Club. All karts are scrutinized 2 hours before "race start" to ensure safety measures and that regulations are adhered to. Home club rules apply when visiting & general motor racing rules are controlled by the experienced marshals, flag men and appointed race director. The club is run by a democratically appointed committee, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and the Class Captains. All enrolled members are allowed at any and all committee meetings. The official racing season commences from September until May each year. Montly Club races are held on Saturdays on a pre-planned calendar. Oval Karting is a social sport which offers excitement and joy for the whole family. Thanks for your interest in visiting our site. We welcome new members, visiting drivers & enthusiasts that want to be part of something with long lasting memories.
